Beechlawn Organic Farm is recognized as a producer of the best quality organic vegetables in  Ireland, bringing healthy food to our customers, grown by our team in a sustainable way. We are happy in our work. Established in 2002 we started with one acre of veg and in 2019 we will be growing 30acres of vegetables including 22 different crops; mostly field scale but also in polytunnels. We employ 15-20 full time staff between our pack-house, office, delivery and farm team. We sell to large wholesalers who supply our veg into the bigger supermarkets, and we also deliver our own branded pre-pack veg to over 50 shops restaurants and supermarkets. We deliver veg boxes to the local area one day a week also. We are certified organic with the Irish organic association, Bord Bia quality assurance scheme and are members of  the Origin Green programme. We are on target to have all packaging and labeling in compostable form by the end of 2019

We have won three organic awards, the latest was in Sept 2018 for our curly kale in a compostable bio bag. Farm intern trainees will be focusing on the protected cropping and summer crop production.We are a busy farm with a lot of staff working together in teams. A manager will also be training in the interns.

We ask that the interns stay for a 9 month internship. We have on farm accommodation including a bedroom, self catering kitchen, wifi and a hot soup provided every day. We are 1 hour by bus or train from Galway and 1 mile from the center of Ballinasloe town. Bikes are available. We welcome couples to both do the internship together. We will have place for two or three interns this year. We have been a host farm since 2014. 70% of our interns are now working in their own horticultural enterprises.
